Windows Defender may flag your game as a threat and delete important files. Here’s how to prevent it:
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Go to Update & Security > Windows Security.
- Click Virus & threat protection.
- Under Virus & threat protection settings, click Manage settings.
- Scroll down and click Add or remove exclusions under Exclusions.
- Click Add an exclusion > Folder.
- Select your game’s installation folder (e.g.,
C:\Games\GameName). - Close the settings and restart your PC.
Now, Windows Defender won’t delete or block your game files.
